1. Who We Are

MatchMyResume AI ("we", "us", "our") operates matchmyresume.io, an AI-powered job search toolkit. Contact us at: privacy@matchmyresume.io

2. What We Collect

We collect the following information when you use our service:

• Account data: Email address, name (from Google OAuth or signup)
• Usage data: Number of analyses run, Pro subscription status
• Scan summaries: ATS score, job title, matched/missing keywords, recommendations (NOT full resume text)
• Cover letters: AI-generated cover letters you choose to save
• Payment data: Handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store credit card numbers

3. What We Do NOT Store

• ❌ Full resume text (only truncated metadata is saved)
• ❌ Passwords in plain text
• ❌ Credit card or banking information
• ❌ Social Security Numbers or government IDs
• ❌ Browsing history outside our app

4. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the MatchMyResume AI service
• To track usage limits and Pro subscription status
• To send weekly digest emails (you can unsubscribe anytime)
• To display your scan history and score progress

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored in Redis (Vercel KV) hosted on AWS in the United States. Scan history is limited to your last 30 analyses. Cover letters are limited to your last 20. We automatically purge older records.

6. Third-Party Services

• Anthropic Claude API: Resume and job text is sent for AI analysis — subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy
• Stripe: Handles all payment processing — subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy
• Resend: Handles email delivery
• Vercel: Hosts our application and database

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — sign in and visit your account settings
• Delete your data — use the "Delete Account" option in settings to wipe everything immediately
• Export your data — contact us at privacy@matchmyresume.io
• Unsubscribe from emails — click unsubscribe in any email we send

If you are in the EU (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have additional rights including data portability and the right to object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie for authentication (NextAuth.js JWT). We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not use Google Analytics or similar services.

9. Data Retention

• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Scan history: Last 30 scans only, older ones automatically deleted
• Cover letters: Last 20 only
• Usage counts: Retained for billing/limit purposes

10. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email.
